SDS is here to help you with all your Ohio University Judiciaries needs. From clarifying the charges, explaining the process, and helping you to anticipate just what is to come, we act as a liaison between university judiciaries and the student.
Please keep in mind that because SDS is a group of student volunteers, we cannot give advice on what to do in the city or municipal courts. If you are facing official charges in either of those courts, visit the Center for Student Legal Services at www.studentlegalrights.org. They have several full-time attorneys on-staff who can assist you with your court issues. Keep in mind that you can only use CSLS if you have paid the $8 fee on your quarterly tuition bill! You cannot pay your legal fee midway through the quarter.
I have been referred to Judiciaries. What do I do now?
The first step is to come into the SDS office and speak with one of our representatives. The sooner you come in, the better. There is very little we can do for a student when the come in the night before their judiciaries appointment.
When you come, it helps to bring any paper work you may have. That includes the official charges from the Office of Judiciaries you may have received through the mail, police reports, evidence, and statements from people who witnessed the incident. The more information you bring to your initial meeting with SDS, the more we will be able to assist you.
We have office hours from Monday through Thursday, 6-9 p.m., or at other times by appointment. To find out how the Judiciaries referral process works, visit this page.
